Just a fast post this Sunday. A piece I did a while back (2014) and had not posted until now. "The Bossa Nova" 18x24" acrylic on canvas. It always makes me laugh I don't know where this comes from I do dance frequently when i paint but I have never been to Brazil never done the bossa nova.....lol
This is a structure for a new abstract painting. I paint in 2 styles, both impromptu but one style is expressionist straight out from the paint to the canvas in one sweep and the other style a more structured method. I like to stay true to having a painting that begins with what creative energy does based on the artists focused thought. This technique I show here is done with a liner bottle and a window wiper or a spatula or scraper, ruler of some kind. The paint is put on with the liner bottle, scribble style and then use the window wiper tool and move it around how you like and there you have it.
This is another of the newer painting I've done, I love the action in this painting which reminds me of a raging river. I must admit the action in this painting was not about fancy brushwork but momentary panic as I painted it with a window wiper. Thanks Nad Ellis
Well finally posting a new paintng to the blog and am feeling the inspiration to communicate. I am not a great communicator so I quess I'll have to teach myself that skill. This is the latest painting from the studio. I have been mainly busy studying and honing my style. I like the direction the paintings are going now and that I found a direction I feel. Its been the most difficult thing for me to develop a personal style even though I considered myself a good painter the style has jumped around, making it hard to build a cohesive show of the art. So this is what I am mainly working on daily, breaking down the art into series and changing the display. Be back soon with more posts and babble. Thanks Nad Ellis
